Missed Goal

Prepare Your Team for Change

206 out of 234 leaders MISSED the goal.

Why? Because they were working on implementing changes successfully while trying to remain productive… and both were too difficult to manage at the same time.

Let’s be real. Change is necessary.

In fact, standing still is often more detrimental than undergoing change.

That’s why implementing change correctly is a top priority for leaders.  And successful change initiatives start with preparing the team.

Here’s how you can help your team get ready for the change(s) to come:

      1. Foster psychological trust: Encourage the team to express concerns and frustrations. Then work as a team to SOLVE for the concerns, not just vent them.
      2. Help team members embrace the “why” and the benefits: Team members show greater resistance to change when the why is unclear. Show why standing still is more dangerous than the unknown.
      3. Reward progress – even the small wins: Everyone doesn’t need a trophy, they do need recognition for hard work. Show how possible things can be when we push hard as a team.
      4. Practice healthy mindset habits: Are we focused on the negative? Or are we bringing solutions to the table? What tools do we need to execute better? What’s in our control? Let’s control it.
      5. Lead by example: Model the behaviors you’re expecting at all times. Show hope and be real at the same time.
